Introducing Armando de la Libertad- Armando is running
for CA State Assembly in Anaheim, Garden Grove and Santa Ana
areas.
Armando hails from a working class family that taught him the values of
hard work and community service. From one-time busboy to bank
vice-president, Armando knows what it takes to get the job done.
Armando's impressive mix of public, private, and non-profit experience
includes working for the Office of Congresswoman Loretta Sanchez, the
U.S. Department of Commerce, and the U.S. State Department. He currently
acts as Vice President of Community Development at Well Fargo Bank and
serves on various community boards.
As a congressional aide, Armando responded to community needs in
housing, public safety, and business. Armando plans to use his
experience to bring more business investment into Central Orange County.
Armando is grateful for the support and endorsements of Congresswoman
Loretta Sanchez, Asian Business Coalition, USA Veterans
Association-NMCB58, Voices & Votes of Silent Americans Association,
Irvine Councilman Sukhee Kang, Garden Grove School Board Member KimOanh
Nguyen-Lam, Community College Trustee Michael Matsuda and many others.
During his first year with Wells Fargo, Armando doubled the bank's local
community reinvestment. Over the past five years, the result has been
improved access to banking services in Central Orange County,
improvement of dilapidated housing, and more support for job preparation
and business finance programs.
Armando has demonstrated a strong commitment to volunteer service. Among
his many roles, Armando has served as a board member of Human Options (a
domestic violence shelter), a board member of Kennedy Commission
(affordable housing), a Corporate Advisor to the Black Chamber of
Commerce, the former Chair of the Hispanic Education Endowment Fund, the
former Vice Chair of the Orange County Asian Pacific Islander Community
Alliance.
Armando's educational background includes a civil engineering degree
from U.C. Berkeley and a Master of Public Policy degree from the JFK
School of Government at Harvard University.
Armando's wife Belinda owns an Information Technology consulting firm
and serves on the region's YMCA Board of Managers.
In June 2006, voters will decide who will fill an open Assembly seat in
Central Orange County (Anaheim, Garden Grove, Santa Ana). With strong
support from friends and neighbors, Armando plans to focus on education,
public safety, and the economy.

| China is home to an ancient civilization, and it is
helping to shape the modern world. In a single generation, China's
economy has moved from isolation and stagnation to engagement and
expansion. As China has grown, our two peoples have come to known
one another better.
Thirty-five years ago this month, the Chinese government welcomed
the United States ping pong team to Beijing. (Laughter.) It's an
event that marked the beginning of renewal -- renewed cultural
exchanges between our two nations. Today Chinese athletes compete
professionally in the United States, and Americans appreciate the
opportunity to see them play.
In 2008, China will welcome athletes from all over the world as
your great nation hosts the summer Olympics. Beijing will showcase
China's transformation and demonstrate China's commitment to the
international institutions that make fair and peaceful competition
possible for all nations. . . . . .
